Korean brand Hyundai has defied all odds to become one of the biggest automakers in the world today. With a broad international presence, sales soared and the award-winning vehicle line up, here it is no wonder Hyundai grows.
Initial
It all started when founder Chung Ju-Yung to create Hyundai Engineering and construction company in 1947 and later founded the Hyundai Motor Company in 1967. Little did he know that this is a family business will become a global competitor in less than a few decades. From 1968 – 1976 Hyundai is consistent with Ford Motor Company assembly line during that time produced Ford and Ford Cortinas Grenadas for the domestic market of South Korea.
Hyundai’s first vehicle
When Hyundai decided to produce his own car, called the experience of several leaders in the field of automotive engineering and design. Former Director General of British Leyland, Austin Morris, came on board which in turn has five engineers in British cars. For the design of the Hyundai again Giorgio Giugiaro of Italdesign, as it was taken from Japan’s Mitsubishi Motors powertrain technology. The result?
